You'll need a a flashlight to locate the PCV valve

The 1998 Nissan Pathfinder uses a PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve as part of its emission control system. The component requires periodic replacement, but you have to locate it first.

  1. Access The Engine

    • Park the vehicle, shut off the engine, set the parking brake and open the hood.

    Locate The Location

    • At the center of the engine, locate a black rubber hose entering the intake manifold.

    Locate The PCV Valve

    • At the end of the hose where it enters the intake manifold is a part the hose connects to. This is the PCV valve.
