Cox Communications is the third-largest cable and broadband service provider in the United States. The company traces its roots to 1898 when former school teacher and Ohio governor, James M. Cox, purchased the "Dayton Evening News" newspaper. Company headquarters are in Sandy Springs, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta.

Cox Communications provides coverage in 15 states across the United States. These states include Arkansas, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Nebraska, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island and Virginia. This coverage does not extend to all parts of the states. For example in Nevada, Cox only provides service in Las Vegas.
