What Geographic Area Does Cox Communications Cover?


Cox Communications is the third-largest cable and broadband service provider in the United States. As of June 2014, it has over 6 million customers and offers a range of TV, Internet, phone, video, networking and security services to residential customers and businesses. The company serves various states and has its headquarters in Atlanta.

Geographic Areas

  • Cox Communications provides coverage in 19 states across the United States. These states include Arkansas, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachussetts, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island and Virginia. This coverage does not necessarily extend to all parts of the states. For example in Missouri, Cox only provides service in Kansas City and Saint Joseph, as of June 2014. Services may take a while to cover more areas within an entire state.

Types of Service

  • Cox Communications provides phone, cable and Internet services to residential and business customers. Customers can purchase an individual service on a stand-alone basis or sign up to a bundle agreement that includes all three services.


  • Consumers should check with Cox Communications to find out if the company offers services in their city. They can also check with their city government or in the telephone directory under residential services to see what cable companies operate in their area.
