Diet Plan to Build Lean Muscle
Protein is the building block of muscle, including lean muscle. You should eat protein every 2.5 to 3.5 hours throughout the day. Vegetables should also be added into your diet.

Foods to Eat
-
Eat eggs, including the yolk, as well as salmon. Salmon is low in saturated fat and, on top of helping you to build lean muscle, it can also lower the risk of coronary artery disease. The best type of salmon to buy is Wild Atlantic salmon, which has more protein than other varieties. You should also eat liver, kidneys, lean beef, fowl, milk, yogurt, cheese, nuts, beans, peas and barley. Don't overcook your meat, which will make it lose protein.
Foods to Avoid
-
Stay away from sugary foods such as candy, soda, cakes, pies cookies and donuts.
-
Hydration
-
Muscle tissue is made up of 75 percent water. Make sure to drink plenty of water each day to help build lean muscle.
Athletes
-
People who play sports should stick to a diet made up of 60 percent carbohydrates, 20 percent protein and 20 percent fat. People who don't play sports have more flexibility, and their diet can be made up of 40 to 60 percent carbohydrates, 20 to 30 percent protein and 20 to 30 percent fat.
