The standard Cessna 206 can take off with as few as 1,860 feet of runway.

The Cessna 206, or "Stationair," is a six-seat, single-engine aircraft with fixed landing gear. The 206 was first manufactured by Cessna in 1964. Improvements have been made to design and technology, making the 2010 Cessna 206 a very desirable and capable aircraft.

  1. Engine Performance

    • The standard Cessna 206 is equipped with a naturally-aspirated Lycoming IO-540-AC1A5 engine, producing 300 horsepower. The Turbo Stationair is equipped with a turbocharged, 310-horsepower Lycoming TIO-540-AJ1A. The turbocharged engine allows it to produce full power up to its service ceiling of 27,000 feet. The service ceiling for the naturally-aspirated 206 is 15,700 feet.

    Speed

    • Maximum cruising speed for the Cessna 206 is 151 ktas, or nautical miles per hour of true airspeed. The turbocharged Stationair can travel at 178 ktas.

    Takeoff, Landing, and Climb Performance

    • The standard Cessna 206 can take off with as few as 1,860 feet of runway in ideal conditions and can land with 1,395 feet of runway. Its climb performance in optimal conditions is 989 feet per minute. The turbocharged 206 can take off in 1,743 feet, land in 1,395 feet, and can climb at 1,051 feet per minute.
