Computer software can be updated.

Peachtree, also called Sage Peachtree, is a company which develops a variety of accounting software programs that are used in many businesses. Although the latest version is available to previous and new customers alike, if you have an older version of the software, you may be able to update it.

  1. Downloads

    • Updates and upgrades of the Peachtree software are available on the company's website at peachtree.com. You can download product updates for 11 programs including "First," " Pro," "Complete" and two editions of "Premium Accounting," accounting for "Construction," "Distribution," "Manufacturing," "Nonprofits" and two "Quantum" editions. The updates go back several years.

    Obsolescence Policy

    • Peachtree's Obsolescence Policy is to support the current release and, for many of its products, two prior releases of the particular versions. The company says that several of its products are being retired. If you use a particular piece of software that is more than two years old, check to see if it will be phased out; go to the Support and Training page of the Sage-Peachtree website (see References below).

    The Latest Versions

    • Peachtree says that the latest versions of its accounting software have new features. You can download 30-day trial versions and use them for free, but then you will have to buy them if you want to continue use. You can convert a trial-version into a permanent one by calling 877-291-1320 and purchasing a serial number.
