Gutter materials are include brackets, the gutter pieces and various screws. Based on the location of the home (large city or small town), the materials and labor will vary. In large cities, labor prices are higher than small towns, yet materials are found at better varieties and discounts.

The nationwide average cost for installation of aluminum gutters is $7 per linear foot, and galvanized steel gutters cost $3 per linear foot. This includes the price of materials and labor as a contractor would charge. Keep in mind that a linear foot is is a straight line of 12 inches.

Galvanized steel is a stronger material than aluminum, yet is only needed in regions where there are very high winds or a lot of rain. Unless the home is in a hurricane-prone environment, it is more common to choose aluminum.

The amount of linear feet per home is the main factor in determining the cost of gutters. The price per lineal foot will remain the same, however the amount of materials will increase. A roof with many dimensions may take more hours to fit with gutters, thus entailing more labor costs in the end.
