Xbox 360 Lite-On DVD drives can be "flashed" to run custom code.

Xbox 360 consoles are manufactured with DVD drives for playing games and movies. These DVD drives are made by a number of companies, including Lite-On. You can "flash" or run custom code on the DVD drive using your computer and freeware software from the Internet.

  1. Opening the Console

    • You will need to open the console to access the Lite-On DVD drive. To open your Xbox 360, you will need a Torx size 7 screwdriver. The Torx screws are located on the metal interior casing of the Xbox 360, under the exterior plastic shell.

Connecting the DVD Drive to your Computer

    • You will need a SATA data cable to connect the Lite-On DVD drive to your PC. The SATA cable must be connected from the DVD drive itself to your PC's motherboard.

Flashing the DVD Drive on your Computer

    • You will need an Xbox 360 DVD drive flashing program to run custom code on the DVD drive. As of October 2010, JungleFlasher is the most updated and stable DVD flashing program available. Earlier programs required MS-DOS, but JungleFlasher is the only program capable of running in Windows. JungleFlasher is an all-in-one flashing utility and no other program is needed.
