Cell phones have helped transform the world as we know it.

Twenty years ago it could not have been imagined that a cellular phone would single-handedly change and impact our society as a whole. What was once a piece of technology for businessmen, has now become an item that is ubiquitous.

Safety

Cell phones have caused an increase in safety. In the past, many people involved in car accidents used to die before reaching the hospital because of a considerable lapse in time. However, cell phones are owned by most people, and a simple 911 call from a passerby can lead to paramedic assistance in a matter of minutes.

Entertainment

Cell phones also have impacted how we view entertainment. Unlike land-line phones, cell phones often come with data plans that allow you to surf the Internet, play games and listen to music. Cell phones have gone above and beyond being used as a means of communication and can perform many of the functions that computers can.

Communication

Outside of the safety benefits, cell phones have allowed you to become more accessible and mobile. In the past, you would have had to stay at home to receive an important or social call, but now you can be reached or reach just about anyone that you please anytime or anywhere. Your social network is essentially in your pocket and at your fingertips.
