The Ford Mustang Cobra SVT was made from 1993 to 2004. The high -erformance coupe and convertible pony car was conceived and built by the Ford Special Vehicle Team.

  1. Engine

    • The 2004 Cobra came with a 280-cubic inch engine with a cast iron block, forged steel pistons, connecting rods and crankshaft, with an aluminum flywheel. It was the Ford Mustang's first factory supercharged motor.

    Performance

    • The Eaton blower supercharger's extra 8 PSI of compression helped the Cobra engine output a factory-claimed 390 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, though enthusiasts claimed 430 hp. The Cobra has 390 foot-pounds of torque at 3,500 rpm and redlines at 6,500 rpm. The cars go from 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds and can do a 12.43 quarter-mile at 113 mph.

    Chassis

    • The 2004 Cobra has an overall length of 183.5 inches, is 73.1 inches wide and 52.5 inches tall with a wheel base of 101.3 inches and a curb weight of 3,665 pounds. The body has a drag coefficient of 0.33. The Mustang has a limited slip differential and electronic traction control.
