International Wire Transfer Information

International Wire Transfer Information thumbnail
International wire transfers require detailed information.

Transferring money internationally is done via a wire transfer process usually through a bank. It is the safer way to send money from one individual or entity to another. Banks and countries have similar requirements and fees in completing a wire transfer.

  1. Sending Information Required

    • The person or entity sending the money via a wire transfer must provide the following information to the bank: name of sender (usually a customer at that bank), account number from which the money is to be transferred, address, phone number, relationship to receiver or beneficiary of money sent and for what purpose is money being sent. The sender must provide photo identification, usually a photo identification, to validate the information provided.

    Beneficiary or Receiver information Required

    • The information you must provide to the bank for the person or entity who is receiving the wire transfer is as follows: name, complete address of beneficiary, name and complete address of bank to which money is being wired, beneficiary's account number or IBAN into which the money will be deposited, the amount of the transfer and the bank's BIC or SWIFT code number.

    Fee and Confirmation

    • Each bank may differ, but the usual fee required to wire transfer money internationally is between $35 and $45, paid at the time of ordering the transfer. You will receive a confirmation from the bank advising you that the transfer has been completed to the beneficiary's bank account.
