History

Nero AG, originally named Ahead Software GmbH, was founded in 1995. Ahead Software GmbH changed their company name to Nero Inc. in 2001. Nero Inc. changed its company name again in 2005, to Nero AG.

Nero is partnered with a wide range of companies that integrate their technologies with Nero AG's products and applications. Nero AG is partnered with the Microsoft Corporation, AAC Codec, SecureDisc, Gracenote Technologies, Blu-ray Disc, AVCHD, LabelFlash and LightScribe.
