State of Alaska Agriculture Grants

Alaska agricultural grant programs are funded by state budget allocations and federal grants to the state. Grants are awarded to farmers, producer groups, nonprofits, universities and government agencies for marketing, innovation and crop specialization projects.

  1. Innovation

    • The Alaska Agriculture Innovative grant is awarded to farmers for projects increasing crop productivity. Grants of up to $5,000 are available to cover up to 50 percent of equipment costs. Public presentation of the project is required upon completion. Matching funds or in-kind is required.

    Marketing

    • The Cooperative Marketing program funds projects that promote the Alaska agricultural industry as a whole. Grants of $2,000 to $5,000 are available to groups or organizations for industry marketing campaigns. Matching funds or in-kind is required.

    Specialization

    • The Alaska Grown Specialty Crop grant funds projects to increase market competitiveness of specialty fruits, vegetables and nursery crops. Awards of $10,000 are available for marketing and research campaigns by groups or organizations. Matching funds or in-kind is required.
