Where to Fish
-
Known also as in-shore fishing, shore fishing in Cabo San Lucas can be done up and down the coast, on both the Pacific and Sea of Cortez sides. Located on the Sea of Cortez, the Los Frailes beach on the East Cape has come to be known as "Rooster Alley" for the high number of roosterfish caught there by in-shore fisherman, according to Come To Cabo. A number of marinas near downtown Cabo San Lucas also offer in-shore charters to private and public fishing areas.
Types of Fish
-
In the waters just off the coast of Cabo, many different species of fish can be caught. The most common in-shore fish types include roosterfish, Pacific jack cravelle, Sierra mackerel, trevally, yellowtail, giant lady fish, red and cubera snapper, pompono and amberjack, states the Baja Anglers website.

Panga Fishing
-
Another common way to in-shore fish is on a panga. Small, powered vessels, pangas have shallow hulls, which help get close to rocky edges of the shorelines of Cabo San Lucas, according to Team Cabo Magic Sportfishing.
