Do Wenger Military Watches Contain Lead?

Lead is a poisonous metal to ingest.

Wenger, the maker of the Swiss Army Knife, also produces a famous and quality line of watches for both men and women. The most notable category of Wenger watches tends to be the military line. The make and metal used in the watch design promote quality and do not include inferior metals.

Background

As part of Wenger Company, dating its start back to 1893, Wenger Watch S.A., the watch-making branch of Wenger, was established in October 1997.

Construction

According to the company, the Wenger military watches contain no lead in their construction. Instead, the metal in the Wenger watch body and those Wenger models with metal chain straps are constructed from stainless steel. For example, the GST Chrono per Wenger "features a silver dial and stainless steel bracelet."

Ladies' Watches

Unlike the military watch line, some of the Wenger luxury watches for women include Swarovski crystals inside the timepiece. These crystals, consistent with Swarovski crystal production include lead crystal glass, which contains a minute portion of lead. Lead is used in a crystal to maximize light reflection and sparkle.
