Technical Specifications for a Dell Mini Inspiron

The Dell Mini Inspiron is considered a netbook, a smaller version of a laptop.

The Dell Inspiron Mini is a netbook--a smaller, less expensive version of a laptop--that Dell Inc. introduced in 2008. As of August 2010, there are two versions--the Inspiron Mini 10 and the Inspiron Mini 10v Nickelodeon Edition--named after their 10.1-inch wide-screen displays.

Processor and Memory

The Dell Inspiron Mini 10 has an 1.66-gigahertz(GHz) Intel Atom Processor N450, while the 10v has an 1.66-GHz Intel Atom Processor N270. Both versions of the Mini have a gigabyte (GB) of random access memory.

Drives

Each Dell Inspiron Mini has a 2.5-inch 160-gigabyte hard drive with 5,400 revolutions per minute, or rpm. As a netbook, the Inspiron Mini does not have an optical drive for compact discs and digital video discs, although an external one can be attached using one of its universal serial bus 2.0 ports.

Graphics, Video, Audio and Networking

The Dell Inspiron Minis have integrated graphics controllers--the Mini 10 had the Intel NM10 Express and the Mini 10v had the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 945GSE--with 1.3-megapixel web cameras. The audio system consists of built-in one-watt stereo speakers and microphone with a high definition audio 2.0 driver. The Mini 10 has 802.11n wireless connectivity while the 10v adheres to the 802.11g standard.
