Thinkpad R61 Vs. T61
The T61 and R61 are two laptops in Lenovo's ThinkPad line. While the two laptops have a lot in common with each other, their differences may be enough to make you choose one over the other.

The R61 and T61, while similar, were designed for different markets. The more rugged-looking R61 is a general use and media PC, while the T61 is marketed as a business laptop.
Graphics

The T61 features the nVidia Quadro NVS 140M graphics card, while the R61 has the less-impressive Intel GMA X3100 integrated graphics that is unable to keep up with the T61's nVidia card.

Both the T61 and R61 are capable of holding up to 4 gigabuytes of DDR2 memory. Both offerings have 14.1-inch TFT LCD widescreen displays.
Batteries

According to CNet.com, the R61 has a 6-cell lithium ion battery capable of an estimated 5.7 hours of battery time. The T61, however, has a 6-cell lithium polymer battery capable of an estimated 3.8 hours.

The R61 comes standard with Microsoft Windows XP Professional and a 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 processor. The T61 has Windows Vista Business with a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 processor.
