Organize bracelets with a Styrofoam jewelry organizer.

Instead of throwing away the Styrofoam packing found in most electronics or large packages, recycle it into a jewelry organizer. With a little creativity and a few craft materials, anyone can create a fun, thrifty organizer to hold rings, necklaces, earrings and bracelets.

  1. Materials

    • To complete this project, gather decorative fabric, Styrofoam packing material and push pins or small nails. Also, have a hot glue gun and glue tubes handy.

    Size

    • Make the organizer whatever size is best suited for the space and amount of jewelry. Cut out a rectangle from the Styrofoam packing.

    Decoration

    • Decorate the rectangle by covering it with fabric. Recycle leftover fabric from other craft projects or purchase a new piece. Attach the fabric to the block using hot glue.

    Hanging

    • Cut an additional strip of fabric, and glue or sew a hem along all sides to prevent it from fraying. Attach the strip to the top of the rectangle in a loop shape. Use the loop to handle the finished project.

    Attaching Jewelry

    • Push small nails or push pins into the fabric-covered rectangle in any desired pattern. Use these to hang up and organize jewelry.
