Nuvo Lice Treatment
The Nuvo lice treatment is a system developed by Dr. Dale Pearlman to treat live lice infestations. Dr. Pearlman claims that three treatments using this method will kill all lice on 96 percent of those infested. The treatment does not kill lice eggs.

The Nuvo treatment was tested in a peer-reviewed clinical study, reported in the medical journal "Pediatrics."
Application

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is used to suffocate the lice. This cleanser, sold over the counter, does not contain soap. It is applied to the scalp when using the Nuvo lice method.

Combing

After coating the scalp with Cetaphil, the hair is combed. This removes excess cleanser and helps keep the cleanser from dripping into the eyes.
Drying

The remaining cleanser is then dried onto the scalp with a hair drier. With this technique, the cleanser continues to adhere to lice, preventing the lice from being able to breathe.
Duration

The cleanser is left on the hair for eight hours or more, eventually suffocating lice. The treatment is repeated once a week for three weeks.
