Dogs that lost their lives in battle

Dog life insurance policies have become increasingly popular today, and now several companies offer policies at competitive rates. Most plans cover certain types of death over another and certain expenses over others.

  1. Replacement Value

    • Most dog life insurance policies are available to cover the cost of replacing your dog after it dies. The value is usually determined either by market value or original cost of the animal.

    Types of Death Covered

    • Dog life insurance typically covers death by disease, accidents and terminal illness.

Types of Death Usually Not Covered

    • Most dog life insurance plans do not cover death due to old age, hereditary conditions or behavioral problems.

    End-of-Life Costs

    • Many dog life insurance policies not only cover the replacement cost of the animal but also include certain end-of-life costs like burial, cremation, euthanasia and bereavement counseling for the owner.

    End-of-Life Expenses Not Covered

    • Most policies will not pay for veterinary costs other than the ones mentioned above. For instance, if your dog dies during an operation, the policy will not pay for the cost of the operation.

    Deductibles

    • As with human life insurance policies, dog owners are still required to pay any deductibles before receiving a pay-out.
