Food for Deer
Deer can find food in the wild on their own. They also will take any freebies you offer if given the chance. Food plots attract deer to a location. The deer are more healthy. Feed the deer and you will create a healthy pool of game to hunt and feast on. The better the deer eat, the better you will eat. Deer crave food based on the season.

Spring
-
Look for deer in the spring around patches of clover. Deer enjoy the new green of spring just like humans. The will flock to new grain and clover.
Summer
-
Heat and drought can negatively effect vegetation as the summer sun dominates the days. Soybeans and alfalfa hold up well in the summer and keep deer fed.
-
Fall
-
Deer search eagerly for food now to store up energy for the long winger. Sorghum seed heads are a delicacy in autumn.
Winter
-
Deer like corn as a winter treat. Food is scarce for these plant-eating animals in winter. Plant corn or throw some out on the ground to get their attention now.
Natural preferences
-
Look for deer under oak trees after acorns have fallen. Deer migrate to naturally growing food sources. Fallen acorns and nuts and wildflowers attract these herbivores. Deer like wild grasses and fruit too.
