Shaking after delivering a baby, whether a vaginal delivery or via c-section, is very common. Typically there is no need for concern since it passes rather quickly. There are many different reasons why women experience shaking after giving birth.

    Hormones

  1. After delivering the placenta, it is common for a woman to experience uncontrollable shaking due to hormonal changes after birth, says GivingBirthNaturally.com.
  2. Remedy

  3. Typically, wrapping or covering yourself with warm blankets helps to relieve the uncontrollable shaking after a standard vaginal birth.
  4. Anesthesia

  5. Anesthesia lowers some women's blood pressure and causes involuntary shaking during and after a cesarean delivery, according to JustTheFactsBaby.com.
  6. IV Fluids

  7. Some women experience chills and shaking after birth due to their IV fluids. Often, the fluids are cooler than the blood and cause chills.
  8. Considerations

  9. Sometimes shaking after delivery is so severe it becomes difficult to hold a newborn baby. Simply wait until the shaking subsides.
