Signs & Symptoms You are Pregnant

There is no way to know for certain if you are pregnant without a positive pregnancy test; however, there are a few common signs that can signal an impending arrival.

Many people believe that one or all of these symptoms should be present in order to be pregnant. In fact, many people do not experience any of these symptoms.

Identification

Signs/symptoms of a pregnancy include: tender or sore breasts, nausea or vomiting, feeling tired or exhausted, frequent urination, sustained high basal temperature, missed period, darkening of the areola, cramping, spotting, headaches, constipation, mood swings and positive pregnancy test.

Timeframe

Pregnancy symptoms can begin appearing as early as two weeks after conception.

Pregnancy Test

A positive pregnancy test can be taken 10 to 12 days after ovulation; however, the earlier a test is taken the more likely a person will receive a false-negative result. A test taken after the first missed period will give more accurate results. A blood test can yield reliable positive results 10 to 12 days after ovulation as well.
