What Is Hair Fusion?

In most salons today, hairstylists use a variety of techniques to add length and volume to their client's hair. One of the more popular techniques used is the hair fusion technique.

  • According to Rhonda Robinson of Stylesbyrhonda.com, hair fusion is the process of using hair adhesives to fuse together natural hair strands with artificial hair strands. Stylists also use a tool called a heat connector to bond the adhesive, natural hair and artificial hair together.

  • Hair fusion techniques are used to add natural-looking thickness to thinning hair, add length to short hair, or both.

  • Unlike most other hair extension techniques, hair fusion is virtually undetectable and can be washed, conditioned and styled like natural hair.

Time Frame

  • The hair fusion process takes an average of five hours to complete and the fusion style can be worn for a minimum of three months.

  • According to Texasbeautysupplies.com, when removing fused hair extensions, be sure to use an oil-based fusion hair remover that contains natural ingredients. Removers that contain acetone or alcohol can cause serious hair damage.
