Acne Products With No Alcohol

Many commercial acne products contain alcohol as an ingredient, which seems to be promoted as an acne fighter. However, alcohol can actually cause redness and can dry out the skin too much, exacerbating acne and causing an oil imbalance on the skin. Luckily, there are a few acne products that you can use that are completely alcohol-free. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Alcohol-Free Soaps and Cleansers

    • Cleansers and soaps that are alcohol-free can contain skin soothing ingredients that will help prevent the skin from becoming too dried out, such as aloe vera or jojoba oil.

    Alcohol-Free Exfoliants

    • Alcohol-free exfoliants will contain properties that unclog pores and slough off dead skin, like baking soda or oatmeal.

    Alcohol-Free Medicated Creams

    • Medicated creams that are alcohol-free will contain powerful, acne-fighting ingredients, like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.

    Alcohol-Free Moisturizers

    • Moisturizers are meant to hydrate and soften the skin, so it is important to select a moisturizer that does not contain alcohol, or it could counteract the moisturizing properties of the lotion.

    Alcohol-Free Spot Treatments

    • Spot treatments that contain alcohol will dry out the skin and can exacerbate acne breakouts. Choose a spot treatment that is alcohol-free, such as tea tree oil or Calamine lotion.
