Natural Afro styles are always beautiful. Modern African-Americans are learning to love their kinky hair and are redefining their Afros. Today's Afros are much more stylish than the stale look from the 1970s. A good Afro is about color, size, accessories and bounce.

    Curl

  1. A curly Afro works for any occasion. Adding curl activator or Miss Jessie Curly Pudding to natural hair will give the original Afro a stylish look.
  2. Color

  3. Hot blond and red colors spice up the Afro. Women are even taking advantage of the two-tone colors to give their Afros some identity and personality.
  4. Size

  5. The height of the Afro depends on the amount and thickness of the hair. To give the appearance of a higher Afro, add volume by using a volumizing spray and the diffuser attachment on a blow-dryer.
  6. Accessories

  7. Adding hair accessories to your Afro helps to further identify it as your own. Flowers, hair clips, headbands or hair jewelry are all possible accessories.
  8. Care

  9. An Afro looks like a simple style, but it still needs care. Lightweight products should be used to moisturize your hair without weighing down your Afro. Use holding spray to keep the Afro's structure in place.
