What Are the Different Levels of Anxiety?
There are different levels of anxiety, ranging from fleeting, worrying thoughts to full blown panic attacks and obsessions. Becoming aware of the different levels of anxiety can help a person keep track of their own particular level and communicate it effectively to others.

Relaxation

Relaxation is when a person feels calm and at peace; there are no imminent worries or uncomfortable bodily sensations.
Mild Anxiety

Mild anxiety could be classified as a passing vague anxiety, slight nervousness and mild stomach upset.

Moderate Anxiety

Symptoms of moderate anxiety include elevated heart rate, increased breathing and sweaty palms.
Severe Anxiety

Symptoms of severe anxiety include a racing heart, shortness of breath, dizziness and fear of losing complete control.
Major Panic Attack

A major panic attack would be when a person hyperventilates, feels extremely detached from reality, begins to fear they are losing their sanity and has an overwhelming impulse to flee the situation.
