Fruits and vegetables are excellent sources of many vitamins and minerals. The nutrients these foods contain are critical for the proper functioning of the human body. Additionally, some fruits and veggies contain essential antioxidants that help protect bodies from cancer, heart disease and diabetes. There are many fruits and vegetables to choose from, categorized by color, nutrient levels and type.

    Vegetables

  1. Vegetables can be eaten cooked as a side dish or eaten raw in salads. They provide the body with nutrients like potassium, fiber, lycopene and lutein.
