Each of the popular browsers stores their cookies in a different directory. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and Netscape each stores their files in a temporary directory. Deleting the files in these directories removes the cookies.

    Internet Explorer

  1. Internet Explorer stores its cookies in the Temporary Internet Files directory. Each user profile set up in Windows has its own temporary Internet files folder that rests in the specific user profile's documents and settings directory.
  2. Firefox Cookies

  3. Firefox stores its cookies in a file called cookies.txt. Firefox places the cookies.txt file in the user's profile folder in Windows.
  4. Safari

  5. Macintosh users and Windows users may wonder where Safari stores its browser. The iPhone stores cookies in /var/root/Library/cookies. Windows users can find their cookies in the caches directory where they have installed Safari. Usually, it's along the lines of C:\Prorams\Safari\Library\Caches.
  6. Netscape

  7. Netscape, like Firefox and Seamonkey, stores user cookies in the cookies.txt file in Netscape's temporary files directory.
