What Are The Arm Wrestling Rules & Regulations?

Arm wrestling is generally mentioned in terms of the fun, 1-on-1 battles between two friends. Many are unaware of the actual arm wrestling league that exists in the United States, and some don't know the rules and regulations that come with the sport.

  1. Definition

    • Arm wrestling is a simple sport; two people go against one another--with their arms on a table-- in order to see who has the stronger arm. The players clasp hands and use the strength of their arms to push one another's hand to the table.

    League

    • The Professional Arm Wrestling Conference is the a widely recognized professional arm wrestling league that has been featured on ESPN. Known as the "PAC," the league sets up events and championships for professional arm wrestlers.

    Signing Up

    • Signing up to become a part of the PAC requires few rules and regulations. Players must simply sign up to be a part of the conference, and they sign up and pay for each fee for the competitions they enter.

    Rules

    • Just like any other sport, arm wrestling has a book of rules and regulations (as found by ArmPullers) The most basic of these rules state that players must be seated at all times, and they may not use their other hand. Getting up or using the other hand results in a foul, which may lead to a forfeit (with three fouls).

    Regulations

    • Also, just as in any other sport, there are specific regulations unrelated to the actual action itself. The league states that competitors "must conduct themselves in a sportsperson-like manner." Failure to do so may result in a foul
