- The symptoms of herpes outbreaks in or on the nose are similar to symptoms of herpes outbreaks on the lips.
- A tingling or numb spot in or on the nose can be the first sign of a herpes outbreak. If antiviral medications are taken at this stage, they can significantly reduce the severity of the outbreak.
- Painful blisters in or on the nose are typical with herpes outbreaks.
- Blisters will ooze and crust over a few days after the herpes outbreak begins on the nose.
- Herpes blisters can be brought on by exposure to the sun, a high fever or in response to hormonal fluctuations.
