LexisNexis is an archive of articles from newspapers, magazines and other sources. According to their site, it's the "world's largest collection of public records, unpublished opinions, forms, legal, news and business information."

The LexisNexis database began in 1970 following an experiment in Ohio. By 1973, it allowed users in both New York and Ohio to search through a database of all state-wide cases. By 1980, it completed an electric database of all U.S. cases.

The site is broken into two sections. Lexis.com is meant for legal researchers and has searchable content on all U.S. cases, laws and statutes since 1770.

The Nexis.com of the section is for journalism research. It holds a majority of news stories since 1986 from most of the world's English-language periodicals.
Slogan

In 2009, the LexisNexis slogan is "Total Solutions." Previously, the slogan was "It's How You Know."
