- An X-ray technician is trained to manipulate X-ray equipment so that pictures of diseases or injuries can be captured and diagnosed.
- Employment in this field exists in hospitals, doctors' offices, clinics, dental offices and nursing homes.
- X-ray technicians work alongside doctors, nurses and other health care personnel.
- Although different levels of education are possible, basic training in this field can be accomplished in approximately 2 years at a trade school.
- Specialized training in this field will enable a radiology tech to perform sonograms, MRIs, and CAT scans or CT scans.
