Labrador retrievers are popular as both pets and working dogs. They usually make excellent pets and tend to be quiet dogs who do not bark often. As is true of all dogs, individual temperament may vary from one dog to another within a breed. If at all possible, spend some time with the individual Labrador you are considering before deciding to adopt him.

    Attention

  1. Labradors are very affectionate and require a lot of attention. This need for attention can lead to separation anxiety.
  2. Energetic

  3. This high energy breed loves to play and be active. You need to walk and exercise a Labrador to avoid hyperactivity.
  4. Chewing

  5. Because they are bred to retrieve, Labradors love to have things in their mouth and may be prone to chewing. Training can help to keep your dog from chewing on inappropriate items.
  6. Appetite

  7. Labradors are voracious eaters and will eat large quantities of food as well as non-food items. Avoid overfeeding and monitor play to ensure the dog does not eat anything he shouldn't.

  10. Fun Fact
