Cats are carnivore's and should avoid a dry food diet at all costs. Dry food is a major contributing factor to feline diabetes as well as numerous other costly diseases. Advising people to "free feed" a dry diet is negligent. If feeding your cat only dry is just "easier" for the human owner, then they shouldn't feel the need to take on the responsibility of cat ownership.
