Makeup collectors may be fully aware at the time of purchase that the products they invest in have a limited shelf life. After about three months of use or so for instance, a tube of mascara may have to be tossed--or no longer used--in order to prevent bacteria from spreading. Someone who is very meticulous however, not only about what products find their way inside her makeup kit but also about cleanliness, may want to keep her makeup as germ-free as possible regardless of how long she can continue using the items safely. This ensures that for the time the makeup is being used, zero or minimal bacteria builds up in the products thanks to healthy sanitation habits. Anyone who practices these habits can rest assured that her face has less chances of breaking out if she has sensitive skin.

If you want to start taking better care of your makeup now and possibly even prolong its shelf life, you can find tips from a pro makeup artist in the following video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsciqjV3VuQ

It may seem as though the makeup application process for older women is more complicated due to the way the skin and its needs have changed since youth. On the contrary, applying makeup on mature women can be simpler in technique than the innumerable ways that considerably younger women can put on their makeup. As long as you keep in mind that the goal in an older woman's beauty routine is to create a fresher, more uplifted and radiant appearance, you are on the right track. Since funky and trendy colors are generally not flattering on mature women--nor are shimmery, glittery and frosty textures--you have a smaller selection to work with that makes it more difficult to go wrong as long as you know the guidelines.

In the video that follows, you will get to hear tips on this subject from a professional: http://www.ehow.com/video_4994520_makeup-tips-mature-women.html
