When to Go
-
All of Georgia's KOA campgrounds are open year-round, and the state's temperate climate means you are likely to enjoy warm weather most of the year in the South. The north, near Calhoun and Cartersville, can get very cold in the winter, however, with some storms and snow. Summers are hot and humid across the state and, with temperatures sometimes topping 100 degrees Fahrenheit, tent camping can be uncomfortable. Spring and fall are both pleasant, but watch out for tropical storms in the fall.
