Intestinal digestive problems can cause pain.

Digestive disorders are those that affect your intestinal tract. The disorder may cause pain, bleeding, nausea, irritation and frustration. Types of intestinal digestive disorders can include irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn's disease, ulcers and diverticular disease.

  1. Ulcers

    • An ulcer is a sore on the lining of the digestive tract (esophagus, stomach, duodenum and intestines). Ulcers are usually caused by a bacteria called Helicobacter pylori and acids. The acid or bacteria can damage the digestive tract and cause immense pain in the stomach.

    Diverticular Disease

    • Diverticular disease harms and affects the large intestine and lining of the bowel. Small pouches, called diverticula, tend to from along the intestines and colon. The pouches can become inflamed and cause internal bleeding coming from your rectum.

    Irritable Bowel Syndrome

    • Irritable bowel syndrome is another intestinal digestive problem that can occur. When the intestines squeeze hard enough, the food or liquid in the stomach may move through the intestines too fast or slow. IBS causes diarrhea, gastrointestinal problems and constipation.

    Crohn's Disease

    • Crohn's disease is an inflammatory bowel disease where ulcers develop in the digestive tract. Crohn's disease causes the affected person to lose massive amounts of weight, have joint pain and have no energy. Symptoms of this disease include bloody stools, diarrhea and upset stomach.
