Air conditioners are very important appliances. Temperature controls enable us to alter the productivity of an air conditioner to our comfort level. There are different types of ac units. When choosing an air conditioning system consider your comfort criteria, number of occupants and the size of the area it will be used to cool.
Types of Air Conditioners
The window air conditioner is mostly designed to serve small rooms with limited residents. It comes with basic air condition components like the compressor unit and the condenser. It is designed to be mounted on the walls of buildings or windows. The window air condition is designed so that the front end is projected into the inside of the room, while the back side is projected outside the building.
Split air conditioners contain the basic components like the compressor, expansion valve and the condenser. The split units have two sections, one inside the home and the other section facing the outside, just like the window units. The power consumption of split units range from 2 kw to 8 kw. They are suitable to use in small to midsized rooms, they are made to cool bigger spaces than the window units. They come in wall and floor mounted models.
The central residential air conditioning system uses an indoor air handler unit, also referred to as (AHU). The AHU is responsible for drawing air through the return ducts. It then cools the air, through passing the air into an evaporator coil. The cooled air inside the evaporator coil is returned back into the living unit through the supply ducts. Central air conditioner is made for use in large buildings with many occupants.
Packaged air conditioner is used to cool bigger spaces than the wall unit or split type air conditioners. The compressor of the packaged air conditioner could be air or water cooled. They have one unique feature they run smooth and are quieter than many similar units in size. They are also deemed environmentally sound and operate very efficiently. They have variable speeds controls, and comparably cost less than other types of air conditioner in its class.
Roof Top Air Conditioner
The roof top air conditioning unit is adapted and mounted on the roof top of a building. It is capable of receiving air through a horizontal or vertical component. It uses a vertical partition to separate the interior from the outside air space. The outdoor air space section contains the compressor and its refrigerant. The refrigerant coil and the fan blower are also located on the outside panel. The air is distributed through the vents.
