Curly-Haired Hairstyles for Men
While curly hair is often unmanageable and deemed feminine, there are styles for men with curly hair that have broken the stereotype. From actors to singers, many male celebrities have shown everyday men that curly hair is hot and trendy. With just a few minutes and a drop of product, curly hair is good to go for a fancy dinner date or a casual night out with friends. Does this Spark an idea?

Long Hair
-
Although long, curly hair is typically associated with females, it can look hot on a man as well. Eddie Vedder, Gavin Rossdale, Dave Mustaine and other rocker men know that long, curly hair in a wash-and-go style pairs well with a guitar or microphone. For men, anything chin-length or longer is considered long, and to make this style work with naturally curly hair, simply wash, add conditioner and let air dry. If your hair is frizzy, use a hair serum on wet hair to define curls. Add extra serum to the tips to help keep your hair from splitting. Avoid touching your hair too often throughout the day, as this can make it look greasy faster.
Slicked Back
-
One style that looks better on men with curly hair over men with straight hair is the slicked-back look. This is because curly hair gives natural volume to any look. Without curls for volume, slicked-back hair can take on the greasy vampire look. Matthew McConaughey has donned this style in many a movie and has earned many "ooos" and "ahhhs" from ladies as well. To get hair like his, wash and finger (do not brush) hair back while it's wet. Use a light amount (a dime-size or quarter-size drop) of gel for some stability. Do not use too much gel, as this can make hair look more like a helmet. A little flow or wind-blown look is good with this style as well.

Very Short
-
Since curly hair ranges from wavy to tight ringlets, short hair is sometimes best. It's definitely, above all else, the easiest hairstyle to pull off for a man. Justin Timberlake, who had an Afro for a few years when he was in 'NSync, has more recently sported the buzz cut. Very short or buzzed hair is a great style for all men, but curly-haired guys appreciate the style more because it's easy to manage, it doesn't get in the way while playing sports, and it won't frizz up or get out of control in certain weather.
Afro
-
The Afro look is any curly hairstyle between about 2 inches long and whatever length is the longest before hair begins to fall to either side. While the style is typically associated with African-American men, white men with curly hair have also worn this style. An Afro for anyone should be poofy, cut neatly and rounded, and not out of control or insanely frizzy. Will Ferrell, Seth Rogan and Jonah Hill are a few male celebrities who popularized the white man's Afro.
Tousled
-
Tousled hair is a style that looks like it isn't styled, but it is. Adrian Grenier (Entourage) is one celebrity, among others such as John Mayer, who wear this look on a daily basis, whether in a tux at an award show or at the beach relaxing. In fact, the versatility of the style is what makes it so appealing for curly-haired men. The length is usually layered, with the shortest layer at the forehead and the longest layer just below the ear. Wash and go is sometimes an option, but more often than not, gel, hair serum or a light mousse are used to keep hair from frizzing.
