Allergic Reactions
-
In certain cases, some people might even have allergic reactions to Prednisolone. Some signs of a Prednisolone reaction are chest tightness, swelling, skin rash, hives, problems with breathing and itchiness. You must get immediate emergency care if you have any of these symptoms.
Infection
-
Taking Prednisolone can increase the chance of developing an infection due to the fact that such steroid medicines can weaken the immune system. They also can make infections worse or awaken a previous infection.
Caution
-
If you have or have had any other medical conditions, you might need dosage changes or specialized testing in order to safely take Prednisolone. Some conditions that might call for this include thyroid disorder, osteoporosis, tuberculosis, glaucoma, malaria, cataracts, mental conditions (such as depression), hypertension, congestive heart failure, diabetes, kidney or liver disease, ulcerative colitis, stomach ulcers and myasthenia gravis. Your physician must be made aware of your medical history.
