Punk-Rock Styles
-
Devilock
The devilock is created by brushing a long lock of hair forward to form a point. The lock goes down the center of the face and ends at the base of the chin. This style was made popular by the Misfits, a horror punk band.Psychobilly Wedge
Often referred to as the vamp ramp, the psychobilly wedge is a hybrid of the Mohawk and the pompadour. It is slicked back, higher on the front like a pompadour, with shaved sides.Mohawk
Made popular by the punk rock movement, a Mohawk is a hairstyle where both sides of the head are shaven, leaving a long strip of hair down the center of the head. A Mohawk can be worn down or straight up with the help of hair wax or strong hairspray. It can also be styled into liberty spikes.Liberty Spikes
Liberty spikes are made by forming large chunks of hair into upright spikes with styling wax. The spikes can be styled down the center of the head like a Mohawk or around the head to resemble the crown of the Statue of Liberty.
Faux Hawk
-
A faux hawk is the modest relative of more rebellious Mohawk. Similar in style, the faux hawk also has longer hair in the center, but the sides of the hair are kept untrimmed. As long as the center of the hair long enough to noticeably spike upward the look is achieved.

Dreadlocks
-
Originating from African tradition, dreadlocks are matted locks of hair that can be created naturally or artificially. Dreadlocks are worn for religious purposes, as demonstrated by the Rastafarian culture, but they are also worn purely for fashion reasons.
Cornrows
-
Cornrows are small, tight braids that are close to the scalp. They are traditionally braided in a straight line, but some wearers opt for creative patterns, such as spirals or geometric shapes. This style is most popular with African-American males, but men of other ethnic groups are known to sport them as well.
Emo Cut
-
The emo hairstyle is a medium-length cut with bangs that are long enough to cover the eyes. The bulk of the hair is kept messy while the bangs are combed over one side of the face. The emo haircut is usually dyed black, but streaks in the black are just as popular.
Hipster Mullet
-
Similar to the standard mullet, a style where the hair is short on the sides and left long in the back, the hipster mullet, also known as the Brooklyn rug, is a lot more modest than its relative. The longer end of the hipster mullet is relatively short, but long enough to create a small rat-tail.
