An acute care nurse practitioner performs emergency medical procedures on critically injured patients. They effectively assess diagnose and treat all manner of acute ailment. They collect and monitor all patient data, recommending long term treatment care once they have stabilized a patient. In certain states, they have the authority to prescribe medication. Additionally, they work with management to establish and implement best practice procedures throughout the medical facility.
