Invitations
-
Have your child help you create invitations using red card stock paper and Superman stickers. The message could read, "Superman has returned to save the planet he loves and to celebrate ______'s Birthday! Please join us!"
Superman Games
-
Create a Superman training course in the back yard for all of the future heroes using hoops to jump through, tires to run through, boards to balance on and lawn furniture to go over or under.
Play a version of hot potato using a green ball and call it Kryptonite Keep-Away.
Use a poster of Superman and some letter S's cut out of construction paper to play pin-the-S on Superman. -
Decorations
-
Fill red and yellow balloons with helium and let the strings just dangle from the ceiling. Hang red and yellow streamers. Put posters of Superman on the walls along with signs that say "BAM!", "KABLAM!" and "POW!" Draw a large Superman emblem on your driveway with sidewalk chalk. Provide each boy with a simple superman cape made out of cloth upon arrival.
Cake
-
Your local bakery will be able to make a Superman cake for you, but if you wish to do it yourself, you can make any cake and add one or more of your child's Superman action figures on the top, cleaning them thoroughly first. You can also cut the cake in the shape of the Superman emblem and frost accordingly. Another option is to use a Wilton Superman cake pan, or make cupcakes using Superman cupcake liners available at party stores.
Favors
-
Fill red party favor bags with candy, Superman stickers, green glow sticks (pretend Kryptonite), Superman comic books, flashlights, rubber balls and superhero masks. Paint wooden picture frames (from your local craft store) red and paint the words "Superman _________" with each child's name. At the party, take a picture of each child wearing a Superman cape and include it when you mail the thank you notes.
