History
-
Using mineral foundation is nothing new. The ancients used this all-natural makeup to help their skin look and feel better. In the past 30 years or so, several companies such as Bare Minerals, Pur-Minerals and Sheer Cover have branded their own form of mineral foundation.
Benefits
-
Makeup that is made with chemicals can harm the skin and clog pores. Acne and other skin problems have been linked to the use of these types of foundations. Mineral foundation does the opposite by providing your skin with a healthy cover for wrinkles, dark circles and other imperfections while still allowing the skin to breathe. A natural look is another benefit that makes this type of foundation popular.

Ingredients
-
Titanium dioxide and Zinc Oxide provide protection from the sun. Kaolin Clay will draw oils out of the skin, providing protection from breakouts. Serecite reflects the light and in doing so reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and promotes a healthy glow.
Considerations
-
Use only your own mineral foundation as sharing can spread germs. When using mineral foundation it is important to note that less is more. The product spreads evenly and though this type of foundation can be rather costly, it will last a long time if used properly.
Application
-
Keep the lid on the foundation and tip the container upside down. This will allow only a small amount of the foundation to seep through the perforated inner lid. Turn the container right side up and remove the lid. Swirl a wide brush through the makeup on the lid and tap the brushto allow the excess to fall back onto the lid. Using upward, circular motions, brush your face lightly with the mineral foundation.
