How Do I Get a Sock Out of My Dryer Lint Filter?
It's a frustrating fact of life: socks can seemingly disappear from a laundry load, or at least one sock is left behind, leaving that one sock to be tossed in the drawer while its mate exists elsewhere. The truth is, while clothes dryers certainly don't actually "eat" the socks, having a sock make its way into the filter can and does happen. If this happens to you, here's what you can do rectify the situation.

The easy option is get a repair person to come in and perform a task that is very basic and can be done by you, which will of course save you money by saving you a bill. You'll need a flathead screwdriver and Phillips head, or you can use an electric screwdriver. Either way, you'll use the flathead as a pry bar.
Locate the bottom portion on the front of your dryer and you'll see that a panel can be removed (for ease of servicing, which is what you're about do). Pull on this front panel; you may need the flathead to pry it away. If so, pull on either end of this front panel to create enough space to slide the flathead and gently pull till the panel gives. Once out, set it aside.
You should now see what's called the lint flow line, and it too can be removed, either by popping it off like the front panel or by unscrewing it. The filter operates like a vacuum fan, and once it's out of the way you'll have unhindered access to the bottom of the filter. You may have to use a flashlight to look into the filter if the sock isn't readily visible. If it isn't, locate it and use either your hand or the flathead to pull the sock toward you. After recovering your sock, reverse the previous directions and replace everything back onto the dryer.
