Create a dazzling outdoor design using grapevine swags and lights. Hang the design from trees or under the eaves of your home for a sparkling and magical space. Use them indoors to jazz up a centerpiece during holiday dinners. Place them over doors and windows for a decorative design. Pliable as well as affordable, grapevine swags will update both indoor and outdoor spaces.
Create a grapevine swag wreath centerpiece for your dining room table. Bend the vine and attach with a thin strip of wire. Add as many or as little vines, depending upon the size of wreath you prefer. Place it in the center of your table. Next, use small candles inside glass holders and place them around the centerpiece. Make sure you keep them inside the holders to contain the flame. For added design, place a small mirror inside the wreath to set your candles on. At night, the light will reflect off of the centerpiece and create a dazzling effect.
Why not create your own crown molding using grapevine branches? This design will create a rustic and inviting look to your home, while not breaking your budget. First, measure the circumference of your room and decide how wide you want the vine molding to be. Next, place small nails around the top of the ceiling to securely fasten the vines to. With your vines, attach them to the nails, using wire for added support. Repeat until you have gone around the room. The brown vine color will contrast nicely with neutral-colored walls. If your walls are dark, consider spray painting the vines. Also, adding in elements to your vine molding such as acorns and dried flowers will create a layered look to the room.
Using grapevine swags wrapped in outdoor lights, create a magical place outdoors. Wrap the vines around a circular hollow ball created with chicken wire. Attach the swag or vines to the ball. Next, use small white lights and wrap them around the ball, sticking the end piece inside to cover. Make sure you have an extension cord to plug in your lights. Once you have all of the balls created, hang them from your favorite tree. Shade trees, such as oak and sycamore trees, have big branches to hang lights from. Attach the balls to the limbs using chain or wire. Hang them in different lengths from the tree to create varying heights. At night, your tree will light up.
For an outdoor deck or porch, wrap the grapevine around the deck railing or down the front. Attach the grapevine with wire or string. Next, hang paper lanterns from the vines to create a beautiful design. Any outdoor lights will work, so use whatever you have around your home for an attractive design.
Dried grapevine swag is highly flammable. Make sure candles placed close by are enclosed in a glass candle holder. This will prevent a fire by keeping the flame contained. Also, make sure you don't place the vines near electrical outlets, which could be hazardous.
