Hi, I'm Dori DeCamillis from Red Dot Gallery. Today, we're going to learn how to draw a honey bee. Alright, I drew out the head, the thorax, the abdomen, and the wings. They're a little crooked here, because I didn't want to go off the page. This, and here's the eyes. Now, from here, they have antenna, which has a couple sections, and some jointed legs. The legs kind of come up in sort of long triangles, except for that bottom part, it's really kind of fuzzy. So, quickly draw out all four of them. I can make a reflection on the eyes, by drawing the eyes completely dark, except for a highlight in the center. The bigger the highlight, the brighter it looks like his eyes are reflecting. I will give his head and his thorax some shading, and some fuzziness, because that's what they have. And, it's a little fuzzier, I'm going to have a little fuzzier over on the left side to make it look like the light is coming from the right side. His thorax is divided into stripes. They're black stripes on orange, usually, and we get a little smaller as it gets down here, and he comes to a little, little point. You can shadow just a little bit on that one side. And, the wings, if you draw the outline of the wings a little darker, and the veins inside the wings a little lighter, they'll look a little more realistic. I'm doing them very quickly, but you can do them slower. And, the legs, I'll quickly do one leg, and whip through the other ones.If you give just a little bit of a reflection in the middle of each of these little segments, they'll look a little more realistic. You make that last one kind of fuzzy. And, this is a little trick, that's not going to look great on the first go around here, but you can tighten it up around the outside. And, I would give the abdomen some darker shadow, maybe even a little bit of tracing around the outside. And, this how you draw a honey bee.
