How to Draw the State of New Jersey
To draw the state of New Jersey as it appears on a map, start with a tilted box shape, connect another box shape and a "leg" shape to it, and then use this basic form as a guide for adding fine bumps, edges and details. View an expert demonstration in this free video of drawing lessons.

Hi, I'm Michael Weisner. I'm an animator, illustrator and graphic designer, and today I'm going to show you how to draw the great state of New Jersey. Let's get started. Alright guys, to begin with drawing out the state of New Jersey, we first rough it out, drawing out a tilted box, like so. Then I'm going to draw another box to it, add a bit of belly. Now, we're going to draw a little back leg to it. Then we're going to connect our two boxes like this. Then we're going to connect, then draw a little brow. Alright, now that we've got that set up, then we can start adding in some more detailed lining to it. Now with our state, you want to first start with the top, do a steady line across, and carry it down a bit, stop, draw out a wing. You are going to start adding some more bumps to it, draw out a jagged edge right here, draw another solid line. Do a little quick cut right here, starting to add some more. Then, we bring in our brow, and there you have it. And that's how you draw New Jersey. Hope you enjoyed. I'll see you next time.
