Hi, my name is Roman Lomtadze. I'm a drummer for a band called Send The Sages, here in Los Angeles, California, and today I'm here to show you how to have a good bass drum technique. There are two ways how to play bass drum pedal, and we can either play heel down, or heel up. So, the idea is that you play the first kick you play a little bit in the rear of the pedal. So, you can slide this so you have room to slide the second hit like this. So, you never play two hits at one place, but you just slide it forward, and it's going to be really easy. The main thing is that we're able to slide. When it's heel up technique, we are able to slide double kick, which is this. With heel down, we would need to play one and two. So, we would play two hits separately. And, when we play heel up, we can just play one. We can play one, and the second one we just slide forward. So, we can make a double kick, or even triple kick sometimes. There are two ways how to play double bass pedal. We can play heel down, or heel up, and I would definitely say the heel up technique is more common, and more useful. You can play much more different things with heel up than heel down. And, especially when we want to play a double kick, we slide our toe forward which is much more easier than doing two hits with heel down. My name is Roman Lomtadze, and this is how I use my bass drum pedal technique.
