Hi, my name is Roman Lomtadze. I am the drummer from the band called Send the Sages, here in Los Angeles, California, and today we're going to talk about how Djembe drums are measured. Djembe drums are measured by the outer diameter, and from edge to edge. So, so this particle Djembe, as we can see, is 14 inch, and before we go to the store to buy a Djembe head, it's always good to know, good to know the measurements. And what I usually do, sometimes I take the whole drum to the store and I basically pick the right head because this particular Djembe is 14 inch, which is the most common, but we can have like 13, 12, 15, 13 and 1/2. Some Djembes are just made in a weird way, and so, yeah, like I said, we take the measuring tape and we place it on the Djembe and from edge to edge, we measure it and we want to make sure that it is exactly from edge to edge, because the diameter of the Djembe might be smaller, so we might lose some inches. So, it needs to go over the edge. That's how we know the exact diameter of the Djembe. So, we want to make sure that we get it really right before we buy it. I'm Roman Lomtadze, and this is how Djembe drums are measured.
